For more than 40 years now, we've welcomed schools and groups of teenagers, families and individuals. The Centre is also available to local or national associations for assemblies, sports or cultural meetings, as well as for seminars or training sessions.
The YMCA association was created in 1960 by Karl Bühler to welcome young German kids who were invited to seal the French-German friendship. The association thus offered them cultural and sports activities with young French people.
In 1967, land was bought on the Rocher de la Justice (Justice Rock) in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon and an international lodging centre was built. The YMCA centre is on the East bank of the river Rhône and has a breathtaking view over the Pope's Place and Avignon.
We also are part of the UNAT, « Union Nationale des Associations de Tourisme et de Plein air » which favours social tourism and access for all to holidays and supports a sustainable and united sort of tourism.
